Trees for bees and other pollinators

Sex is a bit more complicated for plants than animals, and they often need a third party to assist in the process. In NZ we have a variety of pollinators including birds, bees, moths, bats, and insects. It’s important we keep them fed so they can do their job, after all they are responsible for all our plant-based food!

Luckily for us, these pollinators are often a delight to have in our gardens. Encourage them in by planting some of these star providers: Manuka, Pohutukawa, Kowhai, Houhere, Rewarewa, Bottlebush, and Cabbage Trees.

Trees also provide these important critters with shelter and a safe nesting place, offering a hotel and a restaurant, all in the name of procreation 😊
